And the session goes to…

I wanted to share the email nomination for the family who will receive the Giving is Awesome session from me.  Thanks so much both to Staci and Shylo for nominating this family.  It will truly be my pleasure to give this family a full session and everything it entails!

Jeni - I have a good friend (she has worked for our family for the last 10 years) who is perfect for your gift.  Shannon & her husband Jearod have a 2 1/2 year-old son who was diagnosed with a rare disease that causes tumor growth in the brain (very complicated disease……but eventually will cause death).  Kyle had surgery at the beginning of November to remove a large growth from his brain, and to make a very long story “short” had an aneurism two days after his surgery that caused sever brain damage to the brain stem and he was in a coma for two weeks.  Shannon and Jearod decided to leave it in Gods hands and let the doctors remove life support.  With the power of prayer and miraculously he is still living today!!  The doctors are amazed , and he is still in a very dire state, but they are hoping and praying with therapy that he will recover to a point that he can really be living!!  This whole story is so amazing that I cant even write it in an email…so call me and we can talk.  I have shared this story with many of my Alpine friends, because it has been so hard for all of us, and the good it has brought out of people is amazing.  This little boy is such a gift.

But…..not only has this happened to this poor family.  But Shannon was 26 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins when Kyle first went into the hospital (52 days ago)  Last week she gave birth to two “healthy” babies……..this family has had to quit their jobs, are barely making it, and now have three babies in the hospital.  They have been literally living at Kaiser Hospital, and are taking one day at a time.  We have set up accounts for contributions for them etc. but this would be such a gift for them!

Bouncing baby Boy

I am loving all of the sweet little newborn babies I have been getting to meet, snuggle, coo too and rock over the last month!  This morning I was lucky enough to meet sweet baby T, his mom was here last month for her maternity session: http://jenibernatz.com/blog/?p=273 and I couldnt wait to get home and meet this little guy!  He was 9 days old today, and he gave me a run for my money but we got some great shots.  He is so adorable and to me looks like such a little man already!

His big sister was a great help, singing to him, rubbing his feet and just showing him with her 4 year old love.  Here is your sneak peak W family, congratulations again!!

As a reminder Jeni Bernatz Photography will be closed until January 5th, any calls and emails will be retuned then.  Thanks to all of you for a great year, I am so thankful and grateful for all of your support and business!

Sweet baby Griffith San Diego Newborn Photographer Jeni Bernatz

I was lucky enough to revisit baby Griffith on Christmas Eve for another shoot and some shots with his 3 big sisters.  He was so amazing at 8 days old and I was in awe at how many smiles he gave us (regardless of the reason for them!)  This is one lucky little guy to have such loving sweet sisters and great parents!

Don’t forget to nominate someone you may know for the giving is awesome gift as well!  I know there are many people out there who I would love to have a chance to gift this to!

and of course a few more baby G…love this guy!!

Giving is Awesome!
San Diego Photographer Jeni Bernatz

Photographers all over the country are taking part in a wonderful movement this season, called giving is awesome.  463 photographers as of today already!  Read on….and then start thinking!

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – a full session fee for January, all images from their gallery in the session printed as a 5×7 and a high resolution CD of images with full reprint release for personal use almost $1000 value.  Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a special something too. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services.

* The nominee must reside in San Diego, CA. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : jbernatz@gmail.com

The winner will be announced on New Years Eve – get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Jeni Bernatz
